A 3-1 run falls just one win short in the Championship.

Not every weekend ends with a trophy — but not every team fights their way to a Championship game, either. The Rebels went 3-1 this September, earning their spot in the final and pushing the Cannons right to the edge before a tough 6-5 loss ended the run.

This wasn’t the Rebels’ cleanest weekend. The offense had its moments but couldn’t quite find the consistency the team showed in August, and the pitching gave up more runs than anyone wanted. But you know what? Reaching a Championship game is hard. Winning three games in a tournament field is hard. And losing a one-run final by a single run is the kind of outcome that stings — and should.

That sting is a good thing. It means these kids care. It means they’re invested. And it means they’ll show up to the next one hungry.

Rebels fall to the Cannons in a one-run heartbreaker 5-6

One run. That’s all that separated the Rebels from back-to-back Championship titles. The Cannons were a quality opponent and they earned the win — but so did the Rebels earn the right to stand on that field in the final. A one-run Championship loss is not a failure. It’s a measuring stick.

Top Performers at the Plate

Even in a tighter offensive weekend, several Rebels stepped up with standout performances in the box.

Ricky

6-for-11 • 3 Runs Scored • 3 RBIs — Ricky was the team’s most consistent bat all weekend, making contact at an impressive rate and coming through with runners on base. A do-it-all kind of weekend at the plate.

Federico

5-for-10 • 4 Runs Scored — Federico is fast becoming one of the most dangerous at-bats in the lineup. Four runs scored tells you he’s not just getting on base — he’s making things happen once he’s there.

Izaiah

5-for-10 • 2 Doubles — Two doubles in a tournament weekend shows real gap-to-gap power. Izaiah put together a composed, confident performance and hit the ball hard consistently.

Gio

4-for-9 • 3 Walks — Seven times on base. That kind of patience and plate discipline is invaluable — Gio made pitchers work all weekend and kept the lineup turning over.

On the Mound

Four arms took the ball for the Rebels this weekend, logging innings across a tough bracket. There were rough patches, but there were also some performances worth recognizing.

Bradley — The Highlight Reel

In just 2 innings, Bradley was virtually unhittable — 1 hit, 0 earned runs, and 5 strikeouts. That’s the kind of outing that turns heads. Five punchouts in two innings is electric, and Bradley showed exactly the kind of stuff that can shut down any lineup.

Ricky — Two-Way Weekend

5 innings pitched with 4 Ks and only 2 earned runs — solid and efficient. Ricky’s weekend as both a pitcher and a hitter was the definition of a two-way player, and that kind of contribution is invaluable on a tournament squad.

Judah

4.2 innings on the bump with 2 earned runs and 2 strikeouts. Judah ate up valuable innings and kept the team in games — that kind of durability matters deeply in a tournament format.

Jackson

6 innings pitched, 2-0 in both his starts — Jackson shouldered the biggest workload of any arm on the staff, going the distance in two games and picking up both wins. Giving up 5 earned runs over 6 innings in a run-heavy weekend isn’t perfect, but winning both outings is what matters.

The Bigger Picture

The September tournament wasn’t the dominant performance the Rebels put up in August, and that’s okay. Baseball is a humbling game, and even the best teams lose. What matters is the Rebels battled through the bracket, won three games, and stood on the Championship field competing for a title.

The families in the stands never stopped cheering. The dugout never stopped believing. And with the move to 12U on the horizon, this group is just getting started. The hunger is real — and the Rebels will be back.
