Tying the Cannons 12U in game one set the tone — these weren’t 11U kids out of their depth, they were competitors. The CC Phillies handed the Rebels their most lopsided result, but the Rebels answered in game three with a dominant 9-4 win over the Tribe that showed exactly what this team is capable of when it’s clicking. Ending the weekend with a victory against 12U competition is the right note to go home on.

Against older pitching with more velocity and movement, several Rebels stepped up with performances that would stand out in any bracket.
Julian
The biggest individual moment of the weekend belonged to Julian. 5-for-7 at the plate against 12U pitching, with 6 RBIs, 1 run scored, and a home run — yes, a home run against older competition. That’s a statement at-bat that no one in that park will forget, and it’s a sign of what Julian is capable of as this team makes the jump to 12U.

Pitching against 12U hitters is a genuine test — the swings are harder, the contact is louder, and mistakes get punished more severely. The Rebels’ staff navigated the step up with varying results, but there were real highlights mixed in.

Sebastian and Gio (✦) were the standouts on the mound — both threw scoreless outings against 12U hitters, which is genuinely impressive. Sebastian went 3.1 innings and didn’t allow a run, and Gio matched him with a clean 2-inning appearance.
Those are the kinds of outings that build confidence heading into the 12U era. The walks were a theme across the staff this weekend — something to sharpen — but giving up only 6 earned runs across 13 innings against older competition keeps things in perspective.
Behind the Dish
Jackson made his presence felt behind the plate, throwing out 2 of 4 attempted base stealers against 12U competition. A 50% caught-stealing rate against older, more experienced baserunners is a strong showing and a reminder that the Rebels have real defensive value behind the dish.
